Savegre Whitewater Rafting: A journey of unsurpassed beauty, jungle vegetation and exploding whitewater.
For the adventuresome beginner and experienced rafter the Class II and III rapids will have you filled with adrenaline as you paddle hard over the waves. Along the way you will be astounded by the awesome canyons, waterfalls, and primary rainforest of Costa Rica. The Savegre River is a magnificent stretch of whitewater that begins its course by winding out of a sparsely inhabited valley in the mountains. Named one of the most pristine rivers in Central America, the Savegre River is full of incredible scenery at every turn. One of the highlights of this trip is the midway stop at a waterfall tucked into the jungle close to the river edge, here you will get to swim under a waterfall and enjoy a delicious snack before embarking on the remainder of your rafting excursion. We are able to run this river year-round making it an excellent option no matter when you choose to visit beautiful Costa Rica!

We have never been river rafting until last week with Amigos Del Rio. It was a blast. They served breakfast, and lunch when we returned. They paid special attention to safety while making it fun for all!! About halfway down the river, they stopped and we hiked a short distance to a waterfall that was amazing. Our guide was Andres and he was great! I loved the fact that the owner was in a kayak always on guard for potential safety issues! Would definately recommend these guys!!

This was a fantastic introduction to river rafting for our family with teens 11 and 14. From beginning to end there was attention to safety but maximized the fun for everyone. Out in the morning and back from Manuel Antonio for a late lunch. The guide and owner were so friendly and knowledgable about the area and animals. Would do it again in a heartbeat!
