What happens if there is bad weather?
In the even of inclement weather that causes damage to the roads making them impassable, heavy rains or thunderstorms, where we must cancel the tour, then we will try to reschedule you for another date/time. If your itinerary does not allow it, then we will issue you a refund.
If there is a light rain, the tours will likely still proceed as plan.
It’s important to note that if there is rain on the coast, it could be clear in the mountains, and vice versa.
What is the Maximum Weight for the tours?
We do not have a maximum weight requirement. However, for our rafting trips, the largest lifejacket fits a size 52” chest. For the ADR Adventure Park tour, our largest harness fits a size 42” waist.
It is important that you have ample use of your upper body, so that you are able to participate and enjoy the activities on each tour.
Will pictures be available for purchase?
Yes, for our whitewater rafting tours and our ADR Adventure Park tour, there will be a photographer taking pictures throughout the day. Pictures are available for purchase after the tour, and are sent via Dropbox.
The price of the pictures depends on the number of people in your group, and which tour you are on.
There is not a photographer on either the ocean kayak or the mangrove kayak tour. For these trips, we recommend that you bring your own waterproof camera to take pictures. There will be a dry bag, in the kayaks as well.
Can I bring my own GoPro or other type of waterproof camera?
Yes, you can bring a GoPro or waterproof camera on any of our tours. We have helmet mounts available, just ask!
Do you have lockers?
No, we do not have lockers at our office. On each of the tours, there will be a designated dry bag, where you can keep all valuables (phones, wallets, cameras etc). It is recommended that you put these in a separate ziplock bag, before placing it in the dry bag, as this is where all of the guests belongings will go. The dry bag, will be with you throughout the tour.
Should you choose to keep an item in a personal dry bag, then Amigos Del Rio is not responsible for any lost items.
Bags with change of clothes, towels, etc, can be left in the vans.
How can I pay the balance of my tour?
At our office, we take cash (colones or USD), Visa, American Express, or Mastercard.
Is transportation included in the price of each tour?
Transportation is included in the price for guests staying in hotels or houses in the Manuel Antonio or Quepos area.
If you are staying elsewhere (i.e. Jaco or Dominical), please let us know, and we will be happy to provide a quote for transportation for you!
